 About Us

Hsi Fang Temple is a Chinese Ch'an and Pure Land Buddhist temple. The temple was founded by the Venerable Master Hsing Yun in 1989. It is associated with the Fo Guang Shan order and temple in Taiwan as well as Hsi Lai Temple in Hacienda Heights, California.

For all those who are interested, the temple holds meditation sessions and Buddhist studies sessions.

For the English speaking public:

Buddhist studies sessions and discussions are held on Sundays from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. These have no prerequisites, and are open to the public and free of charge.

Meditations are held on Sundays from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. These sessions include walking, standing, and sitting meditation. This is also open to the public and free of charge.

Please contact us for more information about the programs.

For the Chinese speaking public:

There is a regular Sunday chanting and meditation service at 10:00am except for the Repentance Service usually at 9:00am the fourth Sunday of each month.

In addition the temple organizes summer camps and does family and prison visitations. The temple also officiates at funerals, weddings, and house-blessing ceremonies.
